Nile Cosmetics Manufactures Hair Dye Powder

UGANDA: Nile Cosmetics, a local manufacturer of beauty products, received exclusive rights to make and distribute Japanese company Hoyu Company Ltd.’s Bigen powder, used to dye hair. The product was pulled from the market three years ago when local traders abandoned the Japanese product due to high import costs.
The market has instead been flooded with low-cost counterfeit Bigen, according to industry sources. Japan-based Hoyu licensed a local agent after getting wind of the duplication of its product. Bigen is sold globally, with its main markets in Asia and North America.
Nile Cosmetics will purchase the raw materials from Hoyu and package and distribute from Nile’s facilities. The venture is Nile Cosmetics’ second international license after its main offering, the Claire range of products from Pearl Industries in the UK.
